Milking
Brief History
Stellenhof started off as a vegetable farm with a big variety of crops including potatoes, onions, butternuts, chicory, cabbage, lucern and maize. The maize was used to produce silage for the Nanaga Farm Trust with whom we started share-milking in 2012 and that was the beginning of the Stellenhof Dairy Trust.
Stellenhof Dairy started off with 170 cows on our first 40-point rotary. In less than a year we could expand the farm, add a second rotary and milk 1000 cows. Amazing opportunities, some tough challenges and a hardworking, dedicated team made it possible for Stellenhof Dairy to be one of South Africa’s most trusted and respected dairies.
